Have you heard of Hachiko? It’s a dog known for its loyalty to his master.  

Sushi Making Class

Did you know that sushi is originally from Tokyo and didn’t spread to other regions in Japan until 1923 after an earthquake in Tokyo forced several inhabitants including chefs to other parts of Japan? Yep, I learnt that during sushi making class.

Back in Tokyo, we’re …

…. spending time seeing family and friends, sightseeing, checking out video games and annime items, and of course shopping.

Heading back to Tokyo

We had an amazing time in Kyoto. Time to head back to Tokyo. 

Arashimaya Bamboo Forest & Kimono Forest

Slightly easier day on our feet with only about 4 miles of walking through Arashimaya Bamboo Forest and Kimono Forest. We made a couple of stops to get some Japanese snacks and sweets.

Snacks time

We had a crème brûlée donut (pics below), a wagyu skewer, and meat pie. We were so excited to eat the skewer and meat pie that we forgot to take a picture 🤦🏽‍♀️.  Last pic is a beef udon noodle soup, which was extremely flavorful, and a melon soda. 

Samurai & Ninja Experience

We took the opportunity of a rainy day to learn more about Japan’s history, samurais, ninjas and the art of fighting.
